Postcard Journal

Travel is one of my main interests, and I enjoy photography/art and writing, so it is only natural that I started to keep a postcard journal. From each place I visit, I buy a postcard and make notes on the back side of the postcard. Sometimes the postcard is sent in the post with a nice stamp; sometimes I draw a picture onto the postcard. All of the postcards get placed into a book.

Although most of the postcards I buy are the standard paper or cardboard ones, I have also bought a few unique ones too. I've bought holographic ones and ones made from cork. (The cork postcard was sent and received in the post in one piece.)

The idea started when I moved to England for six months in 2000 to take up an internship. From every place in England I visited, I sent a postcard home to my parents. They had quite a collection when I returned! I decided that I would like to do this for myself, without posting all of the postcards, so that I had a souvenir and journal from each place I visited. I can look back on these and remember all of the places I have visited.
