I've been reading over the past month about the economy being on the mend and that companies are now starting to hire for positions that they made redundant in the past couple of years. They are starting in the IT industry and are offering competitive salaries to appeal to people with IT skills.
Based on the articles I have seen, it looks as though companies have been able to put IT projects on hold for long enough and decided that they need IT skills after all. There has been an increase in the number of IT contracts.
