Street Art: Anonymous paste-up plaques

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

These anonymous street artists create small sculptures that are pasted up onto London's walls. The works in this post have political and social messages associated with it and are all in common in medium; they are all plaques. The theme of some of the work is consumerism and other ones are for extinction or conservation.

The plaques depicts alien-like creatures with industrial themes and also conservation and extinction themes. A third series of the work involved realistic-looking iPhones that were glued onto walls. I've included a few photographs of the works below that I discovered across London that are all plaques with the different themes.

I only discovered one of the iPhone consumerism pieces that one artist put up in 2010. This was located on Whitecross Street. As this was several years ago, which is quite a while for street art, this seems to be the only remaining piece in that series.

Note that these artists' works are not related to other groups but simply highlighting various important causes.
