Karnevalsdienstag in Munich, Germany

I was in Munuch from the middle of February to early March this year, and I never did post many photographs as work has been busy. However, I did want to post a few photographs, and I am sorry that they are behind. Time feels to be racing this year, and I am not getting as much time to spend with my blog as I usually do. That aside, I will discuss Shrove Tuesday (also called Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday in some parts of the world) in Munich, Germany. In Germany, the day is called Karnevalsdienstag, and carnivals are held for a few days in celebration. People dress up, and there are concerts and a carnival atmosphre.

The tradition follows Mardi Gras carnival. People were throwing colourful confetti, and several people were dressed up in costume. The main events took place around the main square over a few days at Marienplatz with concerts and live music. Most of the music was colourful and generated some laughter and feel-good atmosphre with the crowd.

It was good to see everyone out celebrating after a dull period that is known as January and February.
